Although the broader architectural framework had already been established, HomeFront Interiors shaped nearly every element experienced within it.

Lisa developed the lighting plans and specifications; designed the bathrooms; selected wall and floor finishes, tile, plumbing fixtures, and materials throughout; reviewed cabinetry plans and recommended modifications where needed; and directed the exterior material and lighting selections.

Working alongside a client with remarkable creativity, discerning taste, and a clear point of view, Lisa helped translate the architectural plans into a deeply personal residence. Together, they moved beyond selecting existing products, creating original furnishings, fixtures, and details whenever the right solution could not be found.

Lighting became one of the home’s defining creative achievements. Lisa and the client traveled to Las Vegas, where they sat across the table from an exceptional lighting designer and developed the collection fixture by fixture.

Through their collaborative process, approximately 90 percent of the home’s lighting was custom-designed specifically for the client, including original pieces for both the interior and exterior. Each fixture was considered in relation to its location, scale, purpose, materials, and surrounding architecture.

When the lighting designs finally came together—and remained within the client’s budget—the client cried tears of joy. It was an extraordinarily moving moment and one Lisa will never forget.

The residence was guided by a clear principle: it needed to feel original and hand-touched. Because so much artistry had already gone into the architecture, production materials would not do. Even the tile was hand-painted, and almost every room was shaped around a specially curated or custom-created piece.

Custom wrought-iron vanities were created for the bathrooms. In the living room, a handcrafted cart was designed and engineered specifically to support the client’s priceless bronze sculpture—estimated to weigh more than 700 pounds—while allowing it to glide readily across the floor. What now appears effortless required careful engineering, exact fabrication, and close coordination.

Nearly all of the furnishings were developed from the ground up to HomeFront’s specifications. Custom dining furniture combined copper with hand-worked blacksmith iron. Wood finishes introduced a subtle Texas character, while refined stains, paints, and materials kept the home sophisticated rather than overly rustic.

The custom rugs offered freedom to determine the precise scale, pattern, colors, and character required for each room. Specialists visited the residence to verify every measurement and placement before the designs were sent overseas. Some pieces took nearly two years to complete, but the results proved worth the wait.

After scouring Dallas for materials worthy of the home, Lisa and the client selected the entire tile palette in one remarkable day. Yet each of the home’s six-plus bathrooms was given its own character through an individual combination of tile, plumbing, finishes, and custom details.

Beauty could never come at the expense of daily life. Lisa and the client discussed everyday routines, seasonal habits, entertaining, and the needs of a large and continually growing family.

Rooms needed to feel intimate during quiet moments while also accommodating children, grandchildren, and large gatherings comfortably. Months of communication, organization, and follow-through ensured that every element arrived as the client expected—and, whenever possible, exceeded those expectations.

When asked, “What did you refuse to compromise on?” Lisa’s answer was immediate:

“Probably everything. This house deserved more than compromise.”

Sink bases, the dining chandelier, dining table, hand-painted tile, custom rugs, and the bronze cart now appear completely natural within the finished rooms. That sense of effortlessness is the result of extraordinary patience and persistence across the project as a whole.
